Bittersweet - The Flooding of the Missouri River Valley

In 1954, the BLM completed the Canyon Ferry Dam and started flooding the Missouri River Valley to create Canyon Ferry Lake. The lake flooded the Missouri River Valley located in Lewis and Clark County and Broadwater County in Montana.One of the communities that was lost to the creation of the lake was the historic town of Canton, Montana. The town was located along the banks of the Missouri River and was one of the most important communities along the Missouri River Valley.This movie is an extermely poignant story told by people that lost their farms, homes and history to the flooding of the Missouri Valley.
