Helena Handbasket with Jim and Terry Gunderson

Helena Handbasket is a local (Helena and Townsend) area band playing an "Americana" style of music. The band includes 4-5 musicians depending on the event.   Jim and Terry Gunderson are local musicians and artisans that own and operate the Goose Bay Glass shop in Townsend and are 2 of the musicians in Helena Handbasket.

Helena Handbasket is an oldtime stringband from the Helena, Montana-area who met twenty years ago as members of the Helena Parlour Pickers. The members include fiddler Terry Williams, Jim Gundersen on concertina and banjo, David Payne on guitar and Candace Payne on upright bass. The gang’s first gig occurred in 2005 when they played for the Missouri River fishing lodge, and they’ve been playing for dances and parties ever since. Their repertoire spans the range of old-time Americana to Celtic traditional--and be prepared for some sweet harmony during an occasional western swing song.
