Amy Kirscher (daughter of Canton Church Board members Keith and Robin Kirscher) is a native of Townsend. Amy graduated from Broadwater High School in 1998. Amy then attended Carrol Collge earning a degree in history in the spring of 2002. Amy's thesis was about Charles Bovey and his efforts to create "living history" through reconstruction and preservation of the historic Montana towns of Virginia City and Nevada City.
While attending Carrol College Amy started working for the Montana Historical Society as an intern and continued work there after graduation. While at MHS Amy held various positions including archival research and cataloguing, publications and editing, tourism and grants managment. Eventually she worked managing membership and donor relations.
Amy left the Montana Historical Society in the fall of 2006 to pursue other goals.
